Our tribe is as diverse as our music and performances...

THE CORE
Welcome kindred sprits of the world. Our mission is to deliver our art & music sincerely on all levels and ideally to inspire those around us. Hipnautica is a "collective tribe", unbridled by genre classification. We present eclectic performances and music that speaks from our souls incorporating members as the show calls for and as their time permits. Not every member will attend every performance. Some performers appreciate and relate to different aspects of this project and thus are compelled and inspired in different ways. Like a musical chameleon we seamlessly weave through a multitude of styles to create an original hybrid sound. Constantly we explore creative process and we ask that you support this aspect of this project first and foremost. We hope that you will relate to some of what we do and perhaps find inspiration from all that we do. We are currently independent fueled by our passion and the financial support of our fans, sponsors, and venues that hire us. We deeply appreciate your support. As artists we will constantly explore new ideas to express ourselves in ways that reflect the personalities of our tribe... we hope you join us on this journey.

Sky - composer & visionary, machines, vocalist, lyricist, world percussion
Sky started this project in 2003 with Trick Appeal Galore and Jordan Jones but unfortunately after a year of working on 6 songs patience faultered. Sky took a year to regroup and during that time he re-evaluated his writing & recording proesses, simplified things, and explored a new approach to the "band" paradigm. After a trip to China and near fatal incident, Sky unlocked new inspirations, passions, and rekindled the artist within him. He quickly gathered new equipment and restructured his approach... going back to his roots as a solo electronic musician. Realizing it may be difficult to find enough musicians to meet his expectations based on the lack of funds he set out alone once again hoping to acquire the interest of new members with the same drive and passion he has. In less than 6 months a steller clan of musicians, artists and dancers started to assemble... and thus a new Hipnautica was born. An organic collective, a creative tribe, an ever changing project that has performed over 50+ shows in the first year, and hit 3 different states...

Pixie - operatic vocalist, dancer, costume designer
While sitting in Elysium (ATX) one night wtih a friend that was complimenting me on recent shows at the Velvet Spade (ATX) I casually mentioned that one day I hope to find a beautiful opera singer that loves Gothic music for this project... and he pointed across the dance floor to a striking raven haired shadow... and said "like her?" I laughed and said yep sure... she'd be perfect... and laughed again. He immediately exclaimed "No, really she is an opera singer her name is Pixie." I laughed again and said - no seriously. His eyes widened and said you should go talk to her before he finished his scentence I was by her side and let her know that I heard she sang opera, that I had a project called Hipnautica and was currently looking for a female singer.... within a couple days she had called and we have been working together ever since. Her style and grace is exactly what I was hoping for and I look forward to the years ahead. |

Erik - guitarist
Erik and I first met through an ex-manager of his project, Lust Murder Box. They had hired me to design their website, and some other marketing materials back in 2005. We were originally just acquaintances and personally I became a big fan of LMB due to their driving music, and classic progressive electro industrial style. We started hanging out at his shows, helping unload equipment on occasion. Over time Erik and I made friends... and as Hipnautica started gathering momentum I mentioned to him that I was hoping to find a guitarist to help out on occasion, mainly just accents on the occasional song. He said he'd be glad to help out... we did a lot over the past 2 years but due to recent time constraints with work, LMB, and his freelance studio work for other bands... he is not always available for all our shows... but he is still considered a core member due to his constant and never ending support, sound advice and hopefully he will be featured on up and coming CD releases and future shows again. Other Endeavors : Lust Murder Box, Neuroma, Freelance Recording Artist |

Predictus De Mortume - vocalist, lycist, dancer
I met the mysterious Predictus at a local dance club, the second I saw her dancing I was compelled to approach her. Oddly it was one of those off nights, when I had just decided for no reason to go out. I had not gotten "fixed" up and kind of looked like a "schmo". Not caring I approached her and said "You've got to know about my project - Hipnautica, I'd love to have you dance at our performances.. "you embody the essence of Hipnautica". The whole time she looked at me like "I don't know about this guy." I didn't hear from her for 2 weeks and then at one of my performances I looked over and saw her dancing madly in one of two dance cages.... she was going wild, and my eyes lit up.... this is Hipnautica. The co-incidences of the universe are not coincidences at all - they are the sign of being on the right path. After the show I approached her and her eyes lit up, she said "that was you a couple weeks ago, I wouldn't have guessed that was you - damn you look different." We've been working together ever since and it turned out she is much more than a dancer... she is majic & mystery, a singer, lyricist, costume designer... and one of my greatest sources of inspiration. Other endeavors : Burlesque Dancing / Poetry and Art |

Blue (Tribal and Hybrid Electronic Drums)
I found Blue actually by just walking by one of our local underground dance clubs called Plush one night as I was heading for a gig at Elysium. His band "Best Luv In Town" was slamming out this fat bottom of the barrel swamp grass blues. With his partner Jordan Webster on guitar and Blue on simply a Bass Drum and Snare with a brush in one hand and mallet in the other.... and a voice that was so deep it made my soul rattle. I stopped in for a whisky hung through 3 or 4 songs and grew more impressed by this duet. If you want to hear real Blues from the soul check them out - they play all over town. It took me almost a year and a half to get Blue on board with Hipnautica - I've never had to try so hard in fact... but as it turns out once he joined he has been unstoppable. Helping with promotions, marketing, setting up occasional gigs, building new relationship with the members, he is a major player within this group - a new core member and the foundation of our beats. His other endeavors : Best Luv in Town & Space Bunnies Must Die are worth checking out. |

Sarah Flo (vocalist / lyricist / didgiridoo / percussion)
Sarah and I met at a burn party at the Ayers Massion over the summer '08. We instantly hit it off out of the blue, and we started talking right then and there about working together for my side project DubNautica. I was looking for a soulful / hip hop and more mainstream voice for my side project DubNautica. It took a bit of time after that to get together due to conflicting schedules, etc.. but as soon as we had our first studio session I knew Sarah had the talent to go place. A true singer, she sings from her heart and soul, with years of experience she nails every note and with a strength that can punch through even the thickest electronic layers. After a couple of shows with her as DubNautica her range and stylistic color quickly prooved to be diverse enough to merge over into my main project - Hipnautica. I'm always fortunate when she has time to grace us with her precense on and off stage. Her other endeavors: the Flo - her main project |

Omid (aboriginal didgeridoo / native american indian flute)
I had seen Omid perfroming with Atash and at various Burn Community events over the last couple years and one night I after writing a brand new song that I had just dropped to my iPod I ran into him at Red Fez while Atash was playing. After sitting down and letting him listen to the track he said "Your music is like water within an desert oasis." I asked if he'd like to come into the studio and see how to incorporate him into our material and future shows. Since then he has worked out brilliantly. His insight and passion are often overwealming but it's this quality within him that allows us to find new pathways to wander together. He is well aware of the deep cultural heritage of the oldest woodwind instrument in the known world. His connection to the digeridoo can transplant you to the deep recesses of the aboriginal bush country. Other Endeavors : Teaching Didgeridoo |

TinkR (dark world dancer - muse)
I've known her for over 15 years, she is my best friend, the love of my life, the foundation of my dreams, and the inspiration for my passion. She is my muse, my confidence, and my partner in all respects. Without her I would not be the person I am today...
When we first met she spoke of wanting to be dancer, and she has studied many forms of dance, and she finds her own lines of inspiration. I'm very proud to be able to provide her a vehicle to explore the passion she has for movement and music.
Other Endeavors : Hydrogeologist |

Roscine (performance artist)
Pixie invited her co- worker to come see our shows... inspired he almost immediately confronted me and said - "Your's shows are an inspiration and I really want to work with you. I've got a video of some of my Butoh inspired performance art that I need to show you." Curious I met up with him and was absolutely blown away by what he was offering. His inspiration and heavy Butoh style performance art helped fuel this project furthur, reignited my passion and drive, and compelled me to write new material specifically to fit his style. We have worked several shows together... and he has been a steller source of inspiration, support... and a great resource having introduced us to our video guy Johnny @ Aquifer Productions. Other endeavors : Painter & a Vetenarian

Infiniti (Dark World Gypsy)
I think Infiniti and I met through online communicatoin thanks to MySpace. I invited her to present a solo belly dance performance at our launch of AWAKEN, the song she choose eventually inspired me to write "Dance of Infinity" which is now dedicated to her. She has been a stellar performer, consistant, reliable, and has become quite dedicated to this project on many levels. From marketing, costuming, motivation, internal comunications she stands out as one of our new core members. |

Poet (modern dancer)
Our first male performance dancer, Poet comes to us with years of modern dance & ballet experience having been in several professional troops he has travelled on various circuits. Technically semi-retired now from the dance world. He found us through an invitation to one of our shows by our assistant manager David Almgren. After I saw Poet dance a few songs I was motivated to ask him to join us sometime - he as then one of the lead character dancers for our FANTASTIQUE - NEW YEAR's MASQUERADE BALL three months later. His experience, professional insight, and musical understanding is a tremendous asset to our creative processes, I'm looking forward to incorporating him as much as possible in the future. |
 |
Miranda (dark world gypsy dancer)
A beautiful woman of many talents, the lovely Miranda joined us through the invitation of Omid. She is as fluid as water and embraces the world aspects of our project incorporating various Belly Dance styles. She illustrates and expands on our world connection. She allows the music to wrap around her and helps to intoxicate the audience. |
 |
Sparkle Motion (techno go go dancer)
A long time techno rave dancer, Sparkle Motion was recommended by Pixie and Erik who were friends through the club scene. Her specialty with us has been a hot pink gas mask freakazoid go go dancer character which we first premiered at AWAKEN in 2008. In character or not she is quite the spectacle to watch. She emphasizes and embodies the techno/ industrial / electro / trance aspects of this project.

mEgAn (interpretive dancer)
Inspired from our shows, Megan approached me about 2 years ago... she had been seeing our performances and was enthusiastically inspired to perform with us... but unfortuntely I had taken on quite a few new people at the time and was still getting my head around what Hipnautica was becoming. So I had to put her on a back burner. Eventually things calmed down for me and I was ready to bring new people into the mix... within a very short time she embraced more fluid style to fit Hipnautica... and performed several shows with us. Due previous injuries however Megan has been forced to not stress her body and has been in stasis, hoping to return to stage with us soon. |
